Graduate Affiliation

Graduates who choose One Spirit Learning Alliance as their Assignment are considered to be “Affiliated” with One Spirit. They demonstrate ongoing connection and alignment with One Spirit through continuing education, offering service to either One Spirit or to their local community, and financially supporting the organization.

Our discernment in establishing these criteria has been to ensure that the title "One Spirit Affiliate" maintains value and high esteem in the broader community, while providing a flexible enough structure for graduates to express service in their own unique ways.

Please select the financial options for your affiliation on this page. Levels of financial commitment at or above the suggested contribution include one elective credit you may apply to the continuing education portion of your affiliation. The organization will connect with you in one year to inquire about your volunteer service and measure our community's collective impact!

Frequently Asked Questions

What does it mean to be “Affiliated” with One Spirit?

Affiliated graduates form One Spirit's outreach service arm, demonstrating their ongoing connection and affiliation with One Spirit through:

  1. Regular financial support of One Spirit,

  2. Continuing education, and

  3. Volunteer service, either at One Spirit or within their local community.

Why is there a need for these requirements?

It's very important to distinguish One Spirit from the various websites that will “ordain” people online, usually by completing a form and submitting a fee. As scrutiny increases on ordinations from organizations like One Spirit who are pioneering outside of the mainstream, we need to show that One Spirit Affiliates actually maintain their status with measurable standards, rigorous enough to demonstrate a deep commitment to our shared vision.

How much is the financial commitment?

As with One Spirit's program tuition, we provide a wide range of Fair-Share options. The standard affiliation requested is $420 for the year, originally calculated to reflect $1 a day plus a discounted cost of a single credit for an elective class. However, as with tuition, there are many many different levels to choose from with increased benefits at each. For those who are able to give more than $420, your act of generosity paves the way for others to begin this journey through our Fair Share tuition program.

What if I can't afford the standard level?

Please don't let finances be a barrier. Simply select an amount that is meaningful for you. ALL grads who affiliate will receive a clergy card and an Affiliation designation on our graduate directory.
