Soulful Conversations: “Being Called by the Christ – An Invitation to a Morning Meal”

Facilitated by Rev. Martha Doran

Experience how humility can be a gateway to hearing what Divine Love is giving us. Spend an hour listening, with humble ears, to how the eternal Christ is calling you. This evening begins with listening to music and a short story of Jesus preparing a seaside breakfast for his disciples. Allow the song’s and the story’s ideas to be a jumping-off point to reflect on what may be calling you. What familiar patterns we may be returning to, avoiding, or postponing a calling? What is the Christ preparing for us as our morning meal?

You will be invited to ponder, allow, and reflect on what may have landed from the song, from the story, from Spirit’s nudge during the hour and share your inspiration in small groups before we all come back together …to “harvest learning and insights.” Join us.

FACILITATOR:

Rev. Martha Doran, PhD

Rev. Martha Doran, PhD, is an ordained interspiritual minister, companion and counselor, graduating from One Spirit Learning Alliance (OSLA) Seminary in June 2017 and getting her ISCC Certificate in December 2022. Becoming a college professor in the early 1990s, she honed her skills of serving as a guide on the side, letting go of the urge to be a sage on the stage. She feels everyone is both a teacher and a student; that everyone has a story to tell, a unique gift to contribute; and that education is a way to lead forth this inner splendor. Martha was raised in the Christian Science religion and remains deeply grounded in her early teachings of an ever present Presence that is exclusively good, inclusive of all. Yet she was called beyond a specific religion to a “place she knew not where”. Martha delights in the journey and feels her ministry is a daily walk to witness and hold all who come to her thought, all who are on her path in Truth, in compassion, in Love. She currently lives in Ventura, CA with her best friend and husband Gary, their dog Millie and the kitten sisters, Abby and Sam. One amazing pack!
