This Class Has Been Cancelled
The human race and its civilization are entering a period of unprecedented upheaval, uncertainty, and unraveling. From the degradation of our natural environment to widening economic disparity, from political disorientation to the rise of artificial intelligence, this new reality is difficult to grasp for many of us. Societies, as well as individuals, are wrestling with the fundamental questions of who we are, how do we feel, what we think, and how do we engage with these realities of our time. Inspired by the traditions of Thich Nhat Hanh, Dr. David Hawkins, Joana Macy, and many others who encourage the practices of engaged-spirituality, Dr. Home Nguyen and the faculty of MindKind Insitute offer in this course an opportunity not only to explore and experiment with foundational practices that uplift our consciousness but also to integrate them into our daily life and work so that we can serve with wisdom and love. We will explore and experiment with the following questions:
- What are the practices of engaged spirituality for our time? • How do we lead and follow with wisdom and compassion?
- How do we discern truth and falsehood?
- How do we bring these practices into the workplace and our communities?
In this course, we will not prescribe solutions but rather invite the practice of asking the powerful and beautiful questions, so as to learn to be present with the discomfort of these inquiries. You will become the scientist of your own mind, body, and spirit through action-inquiry, dialogue, experimentation, and lived experience.
