Inside each of us there is a noble heart. This heart is the source of our finest aspirations for ourselves and for the world. It fills us with the courage to act on our aspirations. Our nobility may be obscured at times, covered over with small thoughts or blocked by confused and confusing emotions. But a noble heart lies intact within each of us nonetheless, ready to open and be offered to the world. Our task … is to recognize this noble heart within us and learn to connect with it, to make it the basis of all that we do and feel. When we clear away all that blocks it, this heart can change the world. – The Karmapa, Ogyen Trinley Dorje, The Heart Is Noble Dec 31:Ben Brill

Fundamental changes are taking place in the inner and outer worlds. We are part of these changes, and yet these changes also depend upon us. Our spiritual practice, our aspiration and awareness, are part of the lifeblood of the planet. There is an urgency now, a primal need, that we live the depths of our longing, our desire for Truth. Life is calling us to realize our true nature and life’s wholeness. We are needed to help life to awaken from a dream that is destroying it. – Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee, Awakening the World Dec 30:Ben Brill

Awakening to the energies of Love represents as extraordinary a birth as any before in the human journey. Should we come to embody this kind of Love – should it become incarnate in us and in our species – it will grace us with a capacity for a far deeper relatedness and a genuine communion with life. – Anne Hillman, Awakening the Energies of Love Dec 25:Ben Brill

We cannot wait for the world to turn, for times to change that we might change with them, for the revolution to come and carry us around to its new course. We are the future. We are the revolution. – Beatrice Bruteau, quoted in Jan Phillips, The Art of Original Thinking Dec 23:Ben Brill
